Jouanny gleaned the third medal for the French para cycling team on Tuesday alone, taking bronze in the time trial on the H2 road.

The morning of Tuesday August 31 was prolific for the French para cycling delegation. Florian Jouanny imitated Alexandre Léauté and Loïc Vergnaud by also winning a medal, the bronze one in the time trial on the H2 road. This is the 31st medal for the French Paralympic team.
Fourth in the first intermediate of eight kilometers, Florian Jouanny did not crack on the second part of the course, unlike the American William Groulx (3rd in the intermediate, 4th in the final). The native of Echirolles (Isère) therefore finished third, 1’18 ” behind Paralympic champion Sergio Garrote Munoz. The Spaniard was crowned just 26 hundredths ahead of second-placed Italian Luca Mazzone.
The 29-year-old tricolor para cyclist confirms his good 2021 season. In June, Jouanny had already pocketed bronze in the road race and the time trial. Tuesday, it is a Paralympic medal that he gleaned this time.
