Grace Zaadi’s teammates triumphed for the third time in three outings on Thursday.
The French women continued their faultless. Victorious over Croatia (19-21), Thursday March 3 in Koprivnica, the Blue won their third match in as many outings, during qualifying for Euro 2022. This success, after those gleaned against the Czechs (38-22 ) then to the Ukrainians (28-25) opens wide the doors of the European championships, disputed in Slovenia, North Macedonia and Montenegro in November.
Despite the final victory, Olivier Krumbholz’s players scared each other in Croatia. They were up to six goals ahead of their opponents, but shook somewhat at the end of the game. The Croats have indeed returned to 19-20, so that a final achievement by neophyte Déborah Lassource (3 goals for her first cap) does not give the French women some air.
With six points, Les Bleues top Group 4, while the other meeting between Ukrainians and Czechs has been postponed due to the war in Ukraine. A victory against this same Croatia, Sunday evening in Toulouse (5:30 p.m.), would send the Olympic champions to the Euro even before the last two qualifying matches.
